Sushi Lounge Poway was an idea conceived by two friends while working together for another restaurant, Sushi on the Rock, La Jolla, and Carlsbad. Katie Rooney was the Manager of Operations for both locations and started their Catering department. Frank Interlandi was a sushi chef in the La Jolla location for 7 years, assisted in the opening of Carlsbad, and was their Head Sushi Chef. The two friends purchased Sushi Poway in 2006 and after renovation opened Sushi Lounge Poway with a new menu, stylish décor, and a whole new feel. Sushi Lounge offers a fresh alternative with emphasis on quality ingredients, a warm lounge-like atmosphere, and hospitable and informative service with a relaxed, friendly vibe.
